Camping in recreational vehicles can be an expensive hobby (one reason renting first is not a terrible idea). A well-appointed camper van can cost into the six figures. Camping trailers can still get pretty pricey, too. But Winnebago unveiled a new affordable camping trailer solution coming in late 2023, the Access.
Here's what you need to know about it.
The Winnebago Access sleeps up to eight passengers
Winnebago says the Access trailer can sleep up to eight passengers. Floor plans have an enclosed bedroom with a queen-sized bed at the front or rear. Sofa and dinette areas also convert into sleeping compartments. The trailers include a dry bath with separate toilet and shower compartments.
The Winnebago Access comes with several standard features
The Access camping trailer has an array of standard features, including an enclosed and heated underbelly, 12V water tank pad heaters, a factory-supplied 200W solar panel and Wifi. Electric tongue jacks easily move the trailer up and down, and powered stabilization jacks deploy with the push of buttons. The Access also has a two-inch accessory receiver hitch that can hold up to 350 pounds of bikes or other gear.
The Winnebago Access also offers some cool optional features
We should get a full range of options closer to production. But the Access can be fitted with 14-inch by 22-inch skylights, easy-to-clean porcelain toilets, thicker and UV-blocking sidewall metal, reinforced under-bed storage and LED lighting on the exterior and interior.
And the Winnebago Access will be super affordable
Winnebago has not announced the full range of pricing yet. But the Access starts at $29,600, making it around $16,500 cheaper than Winnebago's Hike camping trailer. Winnebago says the Access will go on sale at dealerships in November 2023.
