Kia has been rolling out its EV lineup in America. We’ve driven the EV6 and the EV6 GT. The three-row EV9 arrives very soon. And we just got a preview of what the future Kia EV vehicles may look like. The brand revealed three new cars at its EV day. Two of them appear to be bound for the United States.

Here’s what you need to know about the new Kia EV vehicles

Two concepts appear to be heading to America: the EV3 and the EV4.

The EV3 looks like a small, semi-boxy crossover that borrows design language from the EV9. The EV4 looks like a fastback sedan — Kia describes it as “an entirely new type of EV sedan” — which takes some design language from the EV6.

Kia provided no specs or powertrain details for the EV3 and EV4. The brand focused on new sustainable production methods, incorporating materials like Mycelium — made from Mushroom roots — to replace leather and other materials, bioplastics and natural dying with matter root and walnut shells.

How much will the Kia EV3 and Kia EV4 cost?

Kia noted that the EVs would be priced between $35,000 and $50,000. That slots them below the EV6 and EV9, which start at $42,600 and $54,900, respectively. In stripped-down RWD spec, that should make them some of the most affordable EVs on the market. Though, as with the EV6 and EV9, we’d expect more potent models with all-wheel-drive to cost more.

When will the Kia EV3 and EV4 arrive?

Kia did not offer a timeline for launches for the Kia EV3 and EV4. Based on no inside knowledge, we would expect to hear more details from Kia if these cars were nearer to production. Arriving in 2025 for the 2026 model year is probably the earliest timeline to expect them.

And there’s a third vehicle that’s not coming to America?

Yes. Kia also unveiled the EV5 globally. It’s a boxy crossover that resembles a smaller version of the EV9. It comes in three versions: a single-motor short range, a single-motor long range and a dual-motor AWD model that tops the range at 308 horsepower. It will also get a GT version.

Whether it will come to the United States appears to be complicated. Kia initially confirmed it was coming to America eventually, then seemed to walk that back. Kia notably left the EV5 out of its American press release. Car and Driver reports that the EV5 may come to North America but only be sold in Canada and Mexico.
