With the increasing legality of recreational cannabis (it's at 23 states, a couple of territories and counting), smoking weed is quickly becoming commonplace. However, if this is your vice of choice, you probably already know that it can be pretty expensive to get yourself set up right. But it doesn't have to be ... so long as you know where to look for worthwhile affordable gear.

That's why we're here. We've rounded up a collection of some of our favorite weed gear you can but for less than $50 apiece. That way, you can roll your joints, pack your vaporizers, fill up your bongs, etc. and breathe easy knowing you saved some money in the process. And you won't even have to jerry-rig a soda can or carve open an apple to make it happen. (Come on, we're adults now — we're past all that, aren't we?)
To learn more about our testing methodology and how we evaluate products, head here.
Storz & Bickel Cleaning Brushes
If you own a vape or a pipe, these brushes are practically indispensable — and they're so wildly affordable, you might as well buy them just to see what the fuss is about. Seriously, they're great for cleaning old weed out and wiping away ashes, and they're durable enough that you can use them over and over and over again. Why all vapes and pipes don't come with these brushes as a standard accessory is beyond us.
Higher Standards Pipe Dreamz
Pipes can be a little tricky if you use them often, as their insides collect gunk that's sometimes hard to clean out. That's what these bad boys are for. Stick them into the nooks and crannies of your favorite pipe, and you'll have a clear path in no time. It helps, too, that each box comes with 60, as you can really only get a few uses out of each one before you need to swap in a new one.
Elements Ultra Thin Rice Papers
Joints are handy in that they're ultra-portable, but you're going to need rolling papers if you want to roll them (unless you spring for much more expensive pre-rolls, of course). In our testing, we've found that rice paper burns the most consistently and pleasantly and these ones from Elements are some of our all-around favorites at any price. But it's nice that they're so inexpensive.
Eyce Silicone Cleaner
Silicone — while durable, lightweight and soft to the touch — can be tricky to clean, as using the wrong product could result in it drying out and cracking. That's why Eyce, a brand that definitely knows a thing or two about silicone smoking devices, made this plant-based silicone cleaner. Use this, and you won't have to worry about the ill effects of lesser cleaning products.
Dad Grass x George Harrison Signature Rolling Tray
If you're going to roll joints, you should have a rolling tray. They can act as a guide and keep things tidy; you wouldn't want stray weed all over your countertops, would you? This durable metal one from Dad Grass has an extra layer of cool, as it features George Harrison, one of the Beatles, in its artwork, which is a nice little throwback for music lovers.
Barbasol Diversion Safe Stash Can
Have you seen Jurassic Park? If so, you probably recognize this Barbasol can as being similar to the one used by Dennis Nedry to smuggle dinosaur embryos out of the park. While this one isn't made for quite the same purpose, it is a smell-proof secret stash container inside of which you can store your weed discreetly. And it makes a great gift for the movie-loving pothead in your life.
Eyce Solo Dugout Kit
For those not initiated, a dugout kit is kind of like an all-in-one one-hitter set, in which you can easily transport a one-hitter pipe, lighter and a bit of weed. This one from Eyce — which comes with its own little glass one-hitter and a cleaning device — is one of our favorites because it's as compact and portable as it is durable and handy. For those on-the-go sessions, it's a tough little set to beat.
Marley Natural Taster
A one-hitter is a great thing to have on hand when you just want a little toke from time to time, and maybe you want to do it while you're out on some kind of adventure. This one from Marley Natural is one of our favorites, as it is as discreet as it is durable, so it's small enough that you can stash it in your pocket, and you need not fear it breaking.
Sackville Joint Carry Case Keychain
Some people just prefer the experience of smoking a joint, no matter where they go. If that sounds like you, perhaps you need a means of discreetly taking one with you. That's exactly what you'll find in this clever Sackville keychain stash. It's made from aluminum, so you don't have to ever worry about crushing your joint until you're ready to metaphorically crush it yourself.
Anker Portable Charger
Seems weird to suggest a portable charger is a great, budget-friendly weed accessory, no? Well, when you consider that most of our favorite vaporizers are battery-powered, maybe it's not so crazy after all. Carry this bad boy around and you won't have to worry so much about running out of juice between tokes, especially if you're away from power outlets or are on the move.
Higher Standards Aerospaced Grinder
This is our pick for the overall best cannabis grinder you can buy. That alone is enough for it to earn a spot on this, as it is just over $20 brand-spanking-new. Along with it being an exceptional, easy-to-use weed grinder, it also comes in nine different colors, so you can easily match it to the rest of your gear (or pick a wildly different one for kicks).
Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops
While recreational marijuana is legal in more places than ever before, that doesn't mean you necessarily want to walk around all day like a red-eye Jedi, seemingly announcing it to everyone you come in close contact with. Combat red eyes while giving yourself a bit of relief with these effective, inexpensive eye drops.
Session Cleaning Kit
Bongs are gross, full stop. Especially if you leave the water in them for several uses, they get grimy and disgusting, and cleaning them can be a pain. However, this cleaning kit takes the sting out of the cleaning process by expediting it. The solution is effective and won't leave a chemical film inside your bong, and the cotton swabs are great for scrubbing those particularly tenacious spots of grime.
Pax Smell Proof Case
Technically speaking, this case was designed specifically for Pax products, like the Pax Plus or Pax Mini vaporizers and their accessories. But there's no rule saying you couldn't use it for whatever you wanted, be that a handful of joints, some loose herb, your lighter, a pipe, etc. The world is your oyster.
Eyce Hammer Bubbler
An overall smoother and more pleasurable experience than most pipes, bubblers (like the halfway point between pipe and bong) aren't always the most portable smoking option. This one, however, is an exception to that rule, and it's one of our all-around favorites. It has a silicone exterior that makes it even more durable, along with being small enough to pack away.
Pax Era Concentrate Vaporizer
For anyone who desires discretion and portability above all else, a vape pen, like the Pax Era, is the way to go. This tiny device can fit in even the most crowded of pockets, yet the concentrate cartridges that it uses still pack enough punch to get a good high going no matter where you are. In fact, this one is 50 percent more potent than its predecessor and even has an anti-clog feature to ensure smooth operation every time.
Honest Stainless Steel Bowl Piece
Glass bowl pieces usually get the job done, but one slip of the fingers and they shatter — which is unfortunate for a bong accessory you literally have to handle in order to use correctly. That's why we love this stainless steel bowl piece from Honest. It fits into any standard bong downstem, adds a ton of durability, and it's just as easy (if not easier) to clean. You can even pop it in your dishwasher if you want.
Tulip Jars
The storage you choose for your herb is very important, as heat, humidity and even just exposure to the ambient air can have a negative effect on your flower. These jars were specifically designed with weed storage in mind and will keep your cannabis safe, secure and fresh for a lot longer than most other options. Plus, they come in a number of sizes, and you can mix and match them to suit you.
Dissim Inverted Lighter
To our knowledge, Dissim has made the only lighter specifically designed to be used upside-down — like you would when lighting a bong, pipe or bubbler. And if it isn't the only one, it's certainly the best executed in its design and ergonomics.
Session Goods Pipe
Our pick for the best portable pipe, thanks largely to its silicone sleeve with an attached carabiner keychain, this Session Goods offering is an exceptional old-school means of consuming your favorite strain of cannabis. It's also made from durable glass that's easy to clean (thanks largely to its wide cone-shaped design) and it offers good ergonomics.
